Sea Sunday in the Harbour - Multi-event

Whitstable Harbour is today’s focal point for a celebration of all things Whitstable, maritime, seaside and lots more. We are still adding to the programme so keep an eye on this listing or visit the Festival Information Centre for times of individual activities. All events are free.

All day Sheppey Pirates Prepare to man the barricades! The Sheppey Pirates have invaded and it’s mayhem! Visit a pirate camp and be enlisted into the pirate brigade.
2 - 4pm 1st Whitstable Scout Brass Band Popular music from this popular band.
All day Telling Whitstable’s Story: Seaside Holidays Crabbing and candy floss? Caravans and calamine lotion? Share memories of seaside holidays with Whitstable’s community memories group and take your place in history.
All day Sea Shanties Wandering duo playing music with a nautical theme.
All day Harbour Heights present their new DVD “The Crab and Winkle, Then and Now”. This follows on from the successful “Canterbury & Whitstable Railway” and presents a fascinating insight into this historic line, with archive films, photographs and enlightening narrative.
12.30pm to 1.30pm The Whitstable Recorder Ensemble Playing live, this talented and award winning group of teenagers have a musical reprtoire ranging from medieval dances through the 18th century to jazz and modern contemporary.
Various Mission to Fisherman Fun with fish.

All day RNLI open house Would you drop everything to go out on a shout, day or night? Step inside Whitstable’s lifeboat station and see what it takes to be a lifeboat crew member.
All day Play with Clay Get creative with clay. In this free hands-on activity you’ll be able to make your very own clay piece with Artist Stephen Hall.
11.30 - 12.30 Ladies Victorian Guitar Ensemble Playing a selection of music with a nautical flavour
All Day “Take the Pose” Roll up! Ladies and Gentlemen, come and see the strangest thing! Three puppets have jumped out of their sepia photograph and are giving you the chance to have your 1930s-style seaside picture taken with them.
Check-in at Festival Information Centre The Hidden Harbour Short guided walks around the harbour at regular intervals throughout the day. Education and entertainment all in one.
Noon to 5pm Live Music on South Quay Live al fresco music at the Harbour Garden Cafe, alongside Whitstable Harbour South Quay.
